Why nutritionist Dr Linia Patel recommends INDI in clinic
As a women’s health dietitian and performance nutritionist, the topic of supplements comes up in nearly every client session I have. It’s no wonder—this is a multi-billion-dollar industry, largely unregulated and overflowing with products that promise results without scientific backing or clinical relevance. Understandably, people are confused and often overwhelmed.
COMMON NUTRITION CHALLENGES
Two of the most common nutrition challenges on a public health level are a low fibre intake and a lack of variety in plant-based compounds—particularly polyphenols and flavonoids.
Despite the growing conversation around gut health and whole foods, most people still struggle to reach the recommended 30g of fibre a day. If you aren’t on it – it’s easy to fall short. Fibre, of course, is crucial for digestion, blood sugar control, heart health and weight management—but it’s also one of the best ways to nourish our gut microbiome.
Equally important are phytochemicals—plant compounds that don’t have official daily recommendations but are essential for long-term health. The evidence around polyphenols, for example, continues to grow. These compounds help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, support overall resilience, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer.
This is where INDI comes in. INDI products are thoughtfully formulated to deliver these powerful plant compounds in a way that fills nutritional gaps that I see time and again in clinical practice—gaps that most traditional multivitamins or greens powders simply don’t address.
MY ROLE AS A CLINICIAN
In my clinical practice, my job is to cut through the noise and help people implement strategies that are both effective and sustainable. One of the most common myths I try to debunk is the idea that more is better. More pills, more powders and more potions. In reality, effective supplementation means identifying the few things that actually make a difference—using meaningful ingredients, in meaningful quantities, in forms the body can use. This includes everything from nutrient form and bioavailability to the specific strains and doses used in probiotics. But there’s another, often overlooked, factor: stickability.
Behaviour change depends on ease, enjoyment, and consistency. If a supplement doesn’t taste good or feels like a chore, people won’t stick with it. And if it’s not consistent, it’s not effective.
WHY INDI?
INDI is a brand that, for me, delivers on all fronts. The products are built on a solid foundation of nutritional science but also take into account how people actually live. They target modern challenges like low fibre intake and insufficient exposure to phytochemicals—not with synthetic fillers or complicated regimens, but with food-state ingredients. And yes, they taste good. That’s more important than many people realise when you’re trying to help someone build long-term habits.
INDI aligns perfectly with my clinical philosophy: use fewer, better supplements that work. It helps my clients bridge the gap between good intentions and lasting action—delivering measurable impact without adding complexity.
In a world full of hype, I trust INDI to support real, meaningful change. That’s why I recommend it in my clinical practice—and why I’m proud to be the Head of Nutrition at INDI.
