Better than your multivitamin, in more ways than one
BODY CAN REPLACE YOUR MULTIVITAMIN
We talk about fibre a lot (rightly so!), but did you know Body also has what it takes to replace your multivitamin?
Recent clinical studies show that traditional multivitamin supplements don’t actually help prevent disease or improve long-term health. One major 10-year trial involving adults over 45 found that unless there’s a specific need—like pregnancy, vegan diets or iron deficiency—multivitamins didn’t reduce the risk of adverse health outcomes such as heart disease and cancer.
So unless you have a specific deficiency that needs addressing or have a problem absorbing nutrients, then taking a multivitamin won’t do anything. Most conventional multivitamins just don’t have enough of the right vitamins.
WHOLE FOOD SUPPLEMENTS
You’re much better off getting your vitamins and minerals from whole food sources. Vitamins and minerals are found in abundance in all fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes and whole grains. That’s why eating a diverse range of plants is so important for long-term health.
At INDI, we believe in a food-first approach to nutrition—but that doesn’t mean food only. Life can get in the way, whether it’s a busy lifestyle, chronic stress, or the fact that modern farming practices have reduced the nutrient density of our food. Many people aren’t meeting their daily needs for key vitamins and minerals.
That’s where Body, our whole plant powder, comes in. It’s made from real, whole food ingredients that are freeze-dried and powdered to retain their nutritional value. This process keeps vitamins and minerals in their natural, bioavailable forms—so your body can actually absorb and use them. Unlike synthetic pills or gummies (often packed with syrups or fillers), Body delivers nutrition from whole plants—just as nature intended.
INDI’s Head of Nutrition, Dr Linia Patel, an award-winning nutritionist and dietitian, describes how Body “fills nutritional gaps that I see time and again in clinical practice—gaps that most traditional multivitamins simply don’t address.”
SO WHICH VITAMINS AND MINERALS ARE IN BODY?
Each ingredient in Body is kept in its whole form, meaning that you're not just getting isolated vitamins and minerals (like you would in a multivitamin pill)—you're getting all the parts of that plant. The average food contains around 72,000 compounds, including polyphenols, amino acids, and phytonutrients, that work together to support your health. Yep, you read that right. Plants also contain protein. In fact, switching animal protein to plant protein is associated with lower all-cause mortality (i.e. death from any disease).
Body is rich in essential vitamins and minerals, including:
- Vitamin D3 (from algae, not sheep’s wool like most other supplements!)
- Vitamin C (from baobab, kiwi, hibiscus, purple carrot, moringa, maca)
- Vitamin A (from moringa, purple carrot)
- Iron (moringa, baobab, maca)
- Calcium (from moringa, hibiscus)
- Potassium (from kiwi, baobab, maca)
- Vitamin E (from moringa)
- Vitamin K (from moringa)
- Magnesium (from hibiscus)
- Zinc (from maca)
- B vitamin complex (all eight essential B vitamins your body needs daily: B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (calcium d-pantothenate), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (d-biotin), B9 (l-methyl folate), and B12 (methylcobalamin)).
Plus, you’ll benefit from all the natural fibre and antioxidants (like polyphenols) these plants provide—key for gut health.
B VITAMINS
B vitamins are not stored in the body meaning you need to get them from your diet. They are found in foods like meat, eggs, dairy, leafy greens, and legumes. Vegans and vegetarians often miss out on B12, plus chronic stress and alcohol consumption can deplete B vitamin levels even further. Supplementing with a methylated, food-based B complex can help support energy levels, mood, adrenal health, and cognitive function.
VITAMIN D
Vitamin D plays a vital role in bone and dental health, muscle function, immune support, and even mood. According to the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (2019–2023), approximately 1 in 5 adults had low vitamin D levels. While some vitamin D can be obtained through food, it's typically not enough to meet daily needs. That’s why government guidelines recommend that everyone take a vitamin D supplement—especially individuals who are housebound, spend most of their time indoors, or have darker skin, which can reduce the body’s ability to produce vitamin D from sunlight. Even during sunny weather, supplementing with vitamin D is advised. INDI Body contains 25 micrograms, more than enough and Gut Bars contain 5 micrograms, which is half the recommended amount.
